Dani Austin Shares Hair Loss Journey During National Hair Loss Awareness Month

Hey guys, Dani Austin here! 

August is National Hair Loss Awareness Month and as many of you know, this is an issue near and dear to my heart. My own personal hair loss journey began while I was in college and was honestly due to the amount of stress I was experiencing. I was in a vicious cycle of pulling out my hair, then dyeing it and wearing extensions to try to cover up the problem.  

When postpartum hair loss made the issue even worse, I realized I needed to start solving the problem rather than just hiding it. It was during this time that I began wearing wigs so that I could let my hair grow without the added stressors of extensions and dyes. Also during this time, I felt very alone and confused as I tried to find more information on the root causes of hair loss.

After years of research and educating myself, I came to realize that there are so many factors that influence hair loss—not just the hair itself. From my stress to my diet, my environment and my sleep habits, I made a lot of changes to address the holistic causes of my hair loss. One of the things I became very passionate about is scalp health. Knowing every strand of hair starts at the scalp, I began to research clean ingredients that would help remove buildup, increase circulation and create an environment for hair to thrive. After making scalp serums on my own in the bathroom using store-bought ingredients, I knew it was time to use my knowledge to help others.  

And so Divi was born.

I founded Divi so that no one else would have to go through hair loss alone. By creating clean products using science-backed ingredients, Divi exists to promote confidence, healthy scalps and happy hair.
